"As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy (497:3)
"Christianity as Jesus taught it was not a creed, nor a system of ceremonies, nor a special gift from a ritualistic Jehovah; but it was the demonstration of divine Love casting out error and healing the sick, not merely in the name of Christ, or Truth, but in demonstration of Truth, as must be the case in the cycles of divine light."
Christian Science - What is it?
Christian Science is based on the Bible and teachings of Christ Jesus. It explains the spiritual laws of Love that Jesus relied on to heal sickness and sin. These laws are reliable and can be proven. People are doing the same kind of healing today as they learn more about God and His Love for us. Learn more here about the pastor for church services, used for Weekly Bible Lessons that are read in churches worldwide each Sunday, and are available for individual study and spiritual growth throughout the week. You can read the Bible online here (King James Version).
This brochure "What is Christian Science?" includes basic information about the theology and practice of Christian Science, and the activities of The First Church of Christ, Scientist and its publications. It can be downloaded, printed, and shared with others in eighteen languages.
A full explanation of Christian Science can be found in a book based on the Bible by Mary Baker Eddy: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which you can borrow or purchase, along with The Bible, in any Christian Science Reading Room. It is also available online for reading and listening (continuous audio stream), or purchase from the Christian Science Publishing Society or from Amazon,
Six core beliefs, or tenets, of Christian Science are listed on our home page, including the first above under "The Bible" heading, and the second which states: "We acknowledge and adore one supreme and infinite God. We acknowledge His Son, one Christ; the Holy Ghost or divine Comforter; and man in God's image and likeness."
"Jesus was the highest human concept of the perfect man. He was inseparable from Christ, the Messiah, — the divine idea of God outside the flesh. This enabled Jesus to demonstrate his control over matter."
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy (482:19-23)
"And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."
The Bible (KJV), I John 4:16-21
"Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy (494:10-11)
